Group Notice

Monday 16 April 2018 - Visit to Close Cottage, Soulbury

Our next trip is to Close Cottage, Church Lane, Soulbury, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 0BU on Monday 16th April at 2.30pm.  Entrance fee with tea and cake £7.50

The description in the NGS book reads: “The 3 acre garden at Close Cottage is 16 years old and encompasses a formal terraced garden, orchard and paddock.  The garden is laid to lawn and planted with a wide variety of shrubs, bulbs and perennials.  The orchard includes an avenue of cherry trees, various fruit trees, a wild flower meadow, woodland area, vegetable beds and a cutting garden”.

Could you please let me know if you are attending by 9th April as I need to confirm numbers to our host for catering purposes a week prior to our visit.  Please email or ring me if you wish to attend.

I am trying to co-ordinate drivers and passengers so could you please let me know if you are driving and taking any passengers and if you have room in your car for anyone else or if you need a lift.

Directions:  From Aylesbury take A418 towards Wing/Leighton Buzzard.  Go through Wing and after 1 mile turn left onto A4146 (dual carriageway), after 2 miles at first roundabout turn left onto B4032 to Soulbury.  On reaching Soulbury village, Church Lane is on your left just after The Boot Public House.  Close Cottage is the cream painted property on your left.  This is the easiest route using main roads.  The distance from Haddenham is about 18 miles. Please allow 30 minutes journey time.  Parking will be available on the drive and in the lane leading up to the house.
