Seeleys House in Beaconsfield has been providing both Day Opportunities and Short Breaks (Respite Care) Services for over 30 years. It caters for the needs of adults who have severe learning difficulties and may also have physical disabilities. FOSH is a fund-raising support group for both the Day Centre and the Respite Unit at Seeleys. Members of FOSH include parents and guardians of clients, staff at Seeleys, and also members of the general public.
Bucks County Council has undertaken a major programme of Day Service transformation. The last planned new centre was to be at Orchard House in Cressex. In October 2013 a Local Authority Trading Company, Buckinghamshire Care, which was 100% owned by BCC, took over the running of Seeleys House. In January 2017 BCC terminated its contract with Buckinghamshire Care. In July 2017 BCC announced that the Orchard House project had been cancelled - see the latest posts on the The Future for Seeleys clients. The Short Breaks (Respite) Unit has 12 individual rooms (currently only 8 are in use). It is used by some 60 families while the Day Centre has up to 30 clients.
The Seeleys House phone numbers are Day Centre 01494 475357 and Respite Unit 01494 475340. FOSH can be contacted at email@example.com
