British Gas is offering its over-60s customers grants for free cavity wall insulation. You do not need to be on benefits or a low income, as with many free installation schemes.

At the moment there're 10,000 left, and you'll need to own a property with suitable walls. Call 0800 068 0032 to arrange for survey to be carried out at a convenient time.

The scheme ends when the last 10,000 have run out, so act quickly to grab the grant.
