Visit to Highways England Motorway Control Centre - 5 December 2017

We have arranged a visit to the Highways Agency's ultra-modern Regional Control Centre at Godstone, near junction 6 of the M25. The Centre operates 24 by 7 and covers the southern section of the M25 (from Junction 1 to 15) as well as the M2, M20, M23, M3, M27, M271 and M275 and includes certain parts of the Agency's Trunk Roads: A2, A21, A3, A27 to mention a few. Applying this to Counties: Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. To assist the Operators, they have access to just over 120 CCTV cameras and can swiftly monitor the progress of incidents and display appropriate warning signs to motorists approaching the affected area. Visitors will be given a good overview of the control Centre and how the technology is used.

It is proposed that people make their own way by car to the Centre and that we should meet at say 10.45 outside their offices.

For those fancying some lunch after the visit There is a Beefeater in the village of Godstow

Their address is Fosterdown, Godstone, RH9 8BQ

And a map is attached below the blue dot is the Highways England and marked in red is where there is parking available
