Technical Group visit London Bridge Station rebuilding works Aug 2017



The Technical Group organises outings and talks which should appeal to those U3A members who are interested in how, or why, things work. Group members are encouraged to suggest suitable events to include in the programme and to take turns in organising them.  It is envisaged that one event will take place each month.

Wednesday 18 October 2017 - Visit to Hydraulic Research Laboratory, Wallingford

Visit the largest hydraulic testing tanks in the world at HR Wallingford and learn about the effects of waves and water on ships and structures such as weirs and bridge piers, as well as modelling tsunamis and river flows and floodplains.
