Creating a Survey

If you would like to conduct a survey of members of your site or members of the public on a particular topic you can do so using the create a survey function.


To create a survey

 

  • Login to your website
  • Click 'Manage your website'
  • Scroll down to the standard pages list and 'Enable' Surveys 
  • Click the ‘Surveys’ link which should now appear on the navigation menu
  • Click 'manage surveys' 
  • Click ‘Add a Survey’
  • Give your Survey a name in the  'survey name field' (this isn’t the question but the title of the survey)
  • Give a brief description of your survey in the edit box
  • Decide whether you want the survey to be open to the general public or just registered users of bucksinfo.net by choosing yes or no.
  • Click OK
  • Type the question you want answered in the box
  • Select how you wish to present the reply field from the drop down box
  • Select ‘Multiple choice (radio button single answer allowed)’
  • Decide if this question is one required to be answered by the person to by clicking yes or no
  • Click OK
  • Next to ‘type of response’ select ‘yes or no’
  • Click OK

This then takes you to the admin screen for your survey from here you can add extra questions by clicking ‘add a new question’ at the bottom of the screen and then follow steps from 'Type the question you want answered in the box'.

To Publish your survey onto the website click on ‘enable’
To view your completed survey click ‘survey’ on the navigation menu

In order to do different types of questions follow steps from 'Type the question you want answered in the box'


For an essay question

 

  • Type the question
  • Select ‘essay answer’ from the drop down menu
  • Click OK
  • Select the size you want the Text box to be
  • Click OK


For a one line answer

 

  • Type the question
  • Select ‘one line answer’ from the drop down menu
  • Select the size of the text box
  • Select whether you want it to a number, text or integer.
  • Click OK

 


To view results of your survey
  • Click on ‘Surveys’ on the navigation menu
  • Click ‘admin’
  • Click on the name of the survey you want to see the results of
  • Click next to ‘view responses’
  • Click ‘summary’. This will show you the responses to your questions.

 


To delete a question in your survey
  • Click on ‘Surveys’ on the navigation menu
  • Click ‘admin’
  • Click on the name of the survey which contains the question you want to delete
  • Scroll down to the question you want to delete
  • Click on the red X next to the question
  • You will then be asked whether you are sure you want to delete the question. Click in the ‘continue with delete’ button
  • Click OK


To delete a whole survey

 

  • Click on ‘Surveys’ on the navigation menu
  • Click ‘admin’
  • Click on the name of the survey you want to delete
  • Scroll down to ‘Extreme Actions’
  • You will then be asked whether you are sure you want to delete the question. Click in the ‘continue with delete’ button
  • Click OK.
