Additional Information

When I was appointed Chairman of RACA two years ago following my semi-retirement, I have been very impressed with what RACA had achieved over the years to help the town and its residents to enjoy the experience. When I took over I took the opportunity of working with Sally Williams from Retail Revival on behalf of the Town Council and we spent six months visiting various other towns of a similar size to Princes Risborough to see how they worked. Since then it has been a long road and we have at last managed to change RACA into Risborough Area Partnership for our way forward. We have formed 5 sub-groups - Community, Economic, Heritage, Events and Communication, each with their own Chairman, to work together on issues and projects of interest and concern to Risborough and the surrounding communities in order to secure its long term viability as a centre for social, business and cultural activities and to maintain its character and heritage. The events that we have held over the last 2/3 years in the form of our festivals, our Christmas festivities, Kop Hill Climb and the operation of the Community Bus have been wonderful. We are this year working to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee with a Music festival in June, working together with the Town Council which is very important as they do a very good job and we look forward to working together with them in the future. Peter Keen - February 2012. ------ If you, or your organisation, would like to be involved in an action group please contact RAP's chairperson via the Area Information Office or this website.
