This year's Penn Seven and Super Fun Run were held on a pretty unpleasant day, windy and with heavy showers, so we were very pleased that so many of you braved the conditions.
And whilst the conditions were not too uncomfortable for running in, they were not conducive to hanging around on the Common afterwards. Sadly therefore our takings at the various stalls were well down on previous years. Numbers taking part in the Fun Run were also a little bit down on last year. However, there was a bumper entry for the Penn Seven in the morning which helped a lot. In total, we raised £9,000 for our chosen charity, Wycombe Homeless Connection. So many thanks for those of you who supported the event; that amount will make a big difference to them.
Final results are now available here.
George Mardall took some really super photos of the event which you can view here.
And on the evening before, the A team from Penn Roofing won the village tug of war event on the common in a hard fought pull-off with a team from the Old Queen's Head. In tough conditions - intermittent rain made the grass wet and slippery - the roofers won by two tugs to one. Earlier there had been hard fought tussles between teams representing the Red Lion (with two ladies in the side), the Horse and Jockey, the Sports and Social Club and Penn Landscapes.
