Forget what you think you know about the WI
We’re not the usual WI! We are a very mixed bunch and this works brilliantly for us. We are all CGWI members because we enjoy the varied range of meetings and activities, we like to give something back to our community and we enjoy learning new things and meeting new people.
Our meetings NEVER have boring speakers – guaranteed! Some of our favourite recent events have been chocolate tasting, foot reading, and wine tasting. For more info about us, or to ask for a copy of our Programme of events, please contact our Programme Secretary at amanda.beckett@zen.co.uk
Tuesday 12th June - Gloriana (please note change of date)
Queen Elizabeth I
To help celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the current Queen Elizabeth we are holding a history open evening to which all are invited (even men!).
Dr. Susan Doran, from the University of Oxford, will be joining us to share her expert knowledge on the first Queen Elizabeth.
Non-CGWI members and visitor’s charge of £3.50 applies and includes celebratory refreshments.

Toybox
After our recent evening withToybox, where we enjoyed a talk by a very committed and dedicated volunteer, we collected lots of information for members who were not able to make it on the night. Toybox is a fantastic charity doing brilliant work to help street children and families in South America. Take a look at the Toybox website for more information: http://www.toybox.org.uk/
