Aylesbury Cycling Club

The only cycling club in the Aylesbury Vale catering for regular weekend club rides, training sessions, racing, & touring. There is a weekend club run every Saturday and Sunday starting at 9am from the Aqua Vale, Park Street, Aylesbury. These rides are intended for road cycling enthusiasts as they regularly average over 15 miles per hour.

The Cycling Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 10.00am The routes are usually circular and about 20 miles in length. We usually stop at a suitable pub or restaurant for lunch. (I)vinghoe Cycling

The group has weekly rides around the nearby area. The main rides are from the Rose and Crown Pub in Ivinghoe at 10.00am Sunday for a 2(ish) hour ride. Occasionally they arrange rides on other days including some off road adventures.

Milton Keynes BMX Racing Club

This long established club uses a track at Pineham, Milton Keynes off the V11, Tongewell Street, just east of Willen North Lake. The club has consistently achieved good results – it has usually ranked in the top 4 clubs (out of around 40 clubs in the UK) in both the National Series and British Championships, and it has produced a number of very successful riders including several national champions.

Sportive Rides

These challenging mass rides are not races; you do them at your own pace. There are overall time limits because checkpoints and feeding stations will close. You need to have a good bike and be self reliant. These rides are a personal challenge and introduce you to some wonderful scenery.

Circuit of the Cotswolds

There are two routes of about 70 miles and 102 miles. There are plenty of hills in both but especially the long route. The scenery will be wonderful.

The Anthony Maynard Sportive

The sportive will offer two challenging routes, through the beautiful rolling scenery of the Berkshire Downs. One route is 105km, and the other 190km starting from Theale Green near Reading.

Reliability Rides

Cyclosport list a number of Reliability Rides in January to April, all over the UK. These are training rides organised by cycling clubs to get fit for the racing season.

Dieppe Raid

The 37th annual Tour des Trois Vallees is a series of randonnees (touring rides) organised by the Cyclo-Club Dieppois based on the roads and lanes of the countryside in and around Dieppe, offering various distances (from 20k to 200k) to suit both families and keen club cyclists. A walk is generally offered for non-cyclists.
Charity Rides & other events

You have to register in advance, pay a fee and collect sponsorship for the charity. Usually there is a send off, lots of people, lots of fun, a welcome at the end and money raised for a good cause. Getting sponsorship and collecting the money in is the hardest part!

If you are interested in learning to ride a bike or improve your cycling skills then training is available under the Bikeability scheme. Training is available for schools, businesses, families & individuals. There are three different levels provided under this national scheme supported by Cycling England and the Department for Transport.
